Permanent Part-time – 20 hrs/per week
Base Salary $794.50 to $843.23 gross per week plus superannuation
Council is seeking a suitably qualified applicant to fill the permanent part-time role of Museum & Marketing Assistant to provide high quality services, products and knowledge to the clients of the Albert Kersten Mining and Minerals Museum.
The Museum team plays a pivotal role in ensuring Council is a leading partner with our community to achieve the city’s vision of being a living museum and promotes its unique heritage listing.
Reporting directly to the Gallery & Museum Manager, you will support Broken Hill City Council by being an advocate for the Albert Kersten Mining and Minerals Museum and collaborate with staff at the Broken Hill City Art Gallery to cross-promote the region’s attractions and offerings to ensure customers have a quality experience in Broken Hill. You deliver valued services to the community through maintaining day to day operational duties at Council's Albert Kersten Mineral & Mining Museum which displays aspects of the geological, mineralogical, mining and metallurgical history of the city of Broken Hill.
We are seeking a highly motivated employee that has well developed customer relations and administration skills. The successful candidates will have proven communication skills, relevant work experience and able to work effectively in a team and independently as required.
As Council facilities are open 7 days per week, hours will be rostered over a 7-day period and you may need to be available for work Sunday to Saturday. Penalty rates apply for Saturday and Sunday work as per the Broken Hill City Council Consent Award.
