Ready to launch your career? Broken Hill City Council has an exciting career opportunity working within our Parks and Open Spaces team as an Apprentice Arborist.

Reporting directly to the Coordinator Parks and Open Spaces, you will support Council by undertaking all designated work tasks and will successfully complete the required competencies at TAFE to achieve your apprenticeship within the specified period for the apprenticeship (up to 4 years).

Job Description

We are seeking an employee that is enthusiastic about pursuing a career as an Arborist. You will have good literacy, numeracy and communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team. The successful candidate will have a good customer service understanding and a genuine commitment to completing all aspects of the apprenticeship including on and off the job training.

Terms and Conditions of Employment:

  • Ordinary Hours of work shall be no more than 76 hours per fortnight.
  • The ordinary hours of work for employees engaged in Parks and Open Spaces shall be between Monday and Sunday. As such, you may be required to work a span of hours and penalty rates will apply for Saturday and Sunday work as per the Broken Hill Consent Award.
  • All other conditions are as per the Award.

  • Reference Checks
