Council is seeking a suitable applicant to fill the permanent full-time role of Tourism Assistant.
The Visitor Services Team plays a pivotal role in ensuring Council is a leading partner with our community to achieve our vision of being known among the world’s heritage cities, persistently on the forefront of remote community revival and resiliently transforming the Broken Hill economy to deliver diverse and equitable wealth.
The Tourism Assistant is a member of Council’s Visitor Services team and will train in all aspects of the Visitor Information Centre and Cultural Services.
We are seeking an employee that is enthusiastic in pursuing a career in tourism services, has experience working in small and large teams, and has a good customer service understanding. The successful candidate will have proven ability to communicate well with others, have high level Microsoft Office skills and take a proactive approach to their work.
As Council facilities are open 7 days per week and operates on a rotating roster; you will need to be available for work Sunday to Saturday. Penalty rates apply for Saturday and Sunday work as per the Broken Hill City Council Consent Award. All other conditions are as per the Award.
