The Broken Hill City Library provides important services and a safe space both to the local community and visitors by providing educational, social and technological opportunities for all ages and demographics.

Council is seeking the following two Library Assistant positions;

1 x Permanent Full-time Position

Base Salary $69,518 to $73,782 plus superannuation 

1 x Permanent Part-time Position - 17.5 hours

Base Salary $34,753 to $36,891 plus superannuation 

Job Description

The Library Assistant positions play a key role in the day-to-day delivery of these services to the community and is responsible for proactively engaging with customers and supporting their use of the library services, collections and the self-service facilities.  The position will also support the planning and delivery of various library programs including the preparation of materials for outreach customers.

We are seeking a highly motivated employee who has well-developed customer relations and administration skills. The successful candidates will have proven communication skills, relevant work experience and be able to work effectively in a team and independently as required.

Reporting directly to the Library Coordinator, you will support Broken Hill City Council to provide exceptional customer service and support all aspects of library operations. The Library currently operates 6 days a week and the staff's working hours are from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm on weekdays and 10.00 am to 1.00 pm on Saturdays. You will be required to work shifts within these operational hours.
