Council is seeking a suitably qualified applicant to fill the permanent full-time role of Community Safety Officer/Ranger.

Reporting directly to the Manager Corporate & Customer Experience you will support Broken Hill City Council in delivering valued services to the community, through the coordination of inspections to detect, control and enforce Council policies and relevant legislation across the Local Government Area of Broken Hill.

Job Description

We are seeking an employee who has well-developed administration skills, knowledge and experience in legislation interpretation and regulatory implementation. The successful candidate will ideally have proven experience in animal management practices and will deliver parking regulation services through education and enforcement. You will demonstrate proactive and strong interpersonal skills, manage positional workflow, and take a proactive approach to your work. You can listen, assess the context and circumstance of a situation and act to make a difference in your community.

A key component of the position is to enact Council policies and values through responsive and effective liaison with the community, businesses and other stakeholders. The work you do is valued, both within Council and by the community.
