Council is seeking a suitably qualified applicant to fill the temporary full-time role of Living Desert Ranger/Labourer. This position is for a temporary period of up to six (6) months.

Reporting directly to the Living Desert Ranger you will support Broken Hill City Council in assisting with tasks and activities necessary for the successful daily operations within the Living Desert, Living Desert Flora and Fauna Sanctuary, Starview Primitive Campsite, Willyama Common and Regeneration Area ensuring all areas are highly presentable, secure and safe for the community.

Job Description

We are seeking a person who is enthusiastic to experience working at the Living Desert and who will ideally have experience in various labouring and gardening duties. Knowledge and experience in local flora, fauna and Aboriginal culture is desirable. You will have high interpersonal skills with ability to communicate well with others and the ability to assist in completing generic repairs and maintenance of infrastructure.

The successful candidate will enjoy living in Broken Hill, take a proactive approach to their work and strive to make a real difference in the community.
