We are seeking to appoint our next front-line ambassadors to promote our city as a place to live, work and invest.

Cultural Facilities Assistants have the opportunity to work across Council’s various Cultural Assets; the Civic Centre, Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery, Albert Kersten Mining & Mineral Museum and Visitor Information Centre as well as outdoor community events. You will use your retail and/or hospitality skills to provide memorable and wonderful customer experiences for all members, residents, visitors, artists, exhibitors and hirers of these venues.

Job Description

This position is responsible for assisting to promote our city as a place to live, work and invest and supports hospitality services for events and retail operations within our cultural facilities.

We are seeking candidates who have a background in or a keen interest in ‘General Events Assistance’ including bar and usher work, bump in and bump out for events and on day staff. You will be well-presented, friendly, energetic and a good brand ambassador. You will need to be available to work Monday to Sunday, with core availability during Monday to Friday business hours to support the facility’s operational needs, along with additional coverage for events when required. Penalty rates will apply for Saturday and Sunday work as per the Broken Hill City Council Consent Award. All other conditions are as per the Award.
